  • by
Mary Sue Maurer

Calabasas Mayor Mary Sue Maurer, above, will be honored by the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce at their annual Mayor’s Breakfast on Thursday, August 18. Maurer was first elected to the Calabasas City Council in 2005. Prior to her election, she spent several years as a volunteer community organizer for the campaign to build a new middle school in Calabasas. A former special needs high school teacher, she also worked on many educational projects including a district-wide health needs assessment which increased nursing services especially for students with chronic illnesses or special needs; allocation of resources to televise school board meetings on Calabasas TV; and a grant program for PFCs to supplement their individual school needs. The Mayoral Breakfast will be held at Calabasas Country Club at 7 am. To RSVP visit calabasaschamber.com
