The Calabasas Chamber of Commerce introduced a collection of items to be displayed at the Calabasas Library to celebrate the rich history and 70th Anniversary of the organization.
The chamber has arranged a four-tier transparent display case showcasing notable pieces seen during its annual signature events including the Installation Gala, Cal Cup Bowling Tournament, Law Day, Wine Tasting & Silent Auction, and Mayoral Luncheon.
The first shelf of the display includes a 70th Anniversary emblem gifted to the chamber by Immediate Past Chairman Mark Levinson and United Chambers of Commerce, a chamber membership plaque, a plaque listing the Spirit of Calabasas recipients, the Cal Cup Bowling Trophy, a chamber sticker and pen, a Member Renewal Window Decal and chamber and Calabasas Pumpkin Festival pins.
The second window features a 70th Anniversary Certificate presented to chamber by City of Calabasas Mayor Peter Kraut; a “Calabasas: Last of the Old West” chamber license plate frame from the 70’s and a wine glass from the Annual Calabasas Chamber Wine Tasting & Silent Auction.
The third window presents a Calabasas Enterprise newspaper highlighting the chamber’s 70th Anniversary, a chamber membership packet to welcome new members and a photo of the chamber’s Welcome Wagon which was placed at the east entry of Calabasas.
The last window exhibits a news article, advertisement, and photos of the annual Calabasas Pumpkin Festival. Other items include an Images of America: Calabasas book printed in 2015, the chamber’s newsletter “Calabasas Post,” a 2020 Installation Gala program and a photo of the former chamber offices in Old Town Calabasas.
The chamber has also loaned the library two paintings of Old Town Calabasas from late artist Carlos Lacamara, who had ties to Calabasas.
