Construction of the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing is nearing its second and final stage, and Caltrans has announced that one-way traffic controls on a section of Agoura Road will be in effect on weekdays for approximately one month. Then, a full closure of the road will be needed so crews can build the final sections of the landmark infrastructure and conservation project. Beginning in September, the section of Agoura Road between Rondell Street and Hydepark Drive will be placed under weekday controls to accommodate beginning the work of building the approach slopes on the east and west sides of the crossing and moving all utility lines underground to complete the project over the U.S. 101. Then in October crews will fully close the section on weekdays to complete the buildout. This closure is expected to last until June 2026.
Beginning September 25 the closure schedule will be Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm on Agoura Road from Rondell Street to Hydepark Drive. One lane will be available to bicyclists and motorists. Flaggers will be in place to manage traffic. Bicycle lanes will be closed during this time. Cyclists are advised to share the road with caution or to seek alternate routes. Reduced speed limits will be in place. Minimal delays are expected with no closures on weekends and holidays.
