Affordable Housing Project on Ventura Starts Grading

  • by

Grading has begun on the Daylight Community Development’s permanent supportive housing development on Ventura Blvd.

The parcel at 23036-23060 Ventura Blvd. is located directly east of  Bowlero bowling alley near Woodlake Avenue.

Daylight developer and partner Greg Comanor told Valley News Group, “We have started grading on the project. Very early stages but we have an approved project and are kicking off. Obviously slowly given the rain but we are getting started.”

The eight-story project will deliver 75 units of workforce rent-restricted affordable housing targeting working families, as well as 25 units of permanent supportive housing with high-quality wrap-around services. The unit mix includes two studios, 45 one bedrooms, 25 two bedrooms and  27 three bedrooms. Comanor said, “By developing this residential community on a vacant hillside parcel next to the 101 freeway, we envision a beautiful community with numerous on-site amenities, such as community rooms, case management and service offices, gardens and terraces, among others.”
