Affordable Housing Complex Breaks Ground in Warner Center

  • by

Meta Housing Corp. has broken ground on a large affordable housing complex in Warner Center.

Located at 21300 W. Oxnard (next to the Starbucks drive-thru), the project was approved using the Mayor’s Executive Directive 1,  which commits the City to working collaboratively to accelerate the approval of qualifying affordable housing projects.

Named The Alcove, the two-phase development is an 100% affordable project at various income levels.  There will be two buildings with a total of 301 units – 20% set aside for moderate income households and 80% set aside for low income households. This corresponds to households making between $26,490 and $125,120 per year.

Renderings of the project show contemporary seven- and eight- story buildings with 301 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, and parking for 229 vehicles. There will be amenity decks for residents, and publicly-accessible open space on the western end of the property.

Meta Housing Corp. is a Los Angeles-based developer that since 1993 has built  affordable housing   across Southern California. This is their first project in the San Fernando Valley.
